Loving on Grandma Judy

Mom's room was brightened by phone calls, flowers and her grandchildren. Elin and Zachary sang a sweet song to Grandma that had hand motions ending with "I love YOU." Mom's face beemed, in fact, I think it glowed. I even caught mom playing peek a boo with little Nathan. He loved it. She covered her head with a washcloth and peeked at him and that sent him into a giggling frenzy. I had mom sit up and look in the mirror to put on some lipstick. We talked about God's goodness and His plan for her. She was suprised that she woke up from the surgery. I affirmed to her that God is not done with her yet! He has a good plan for her. A plan to give her hope and to bring himself glory. She was very encouraged by that truth. Every day she looks stronger, the swelling in her neck is slowly subsiding. Dialysis went well today. She also got two units of blood. One of the days highlights was when she was out for a walk and we (the kids and I) went to the other end of the hallway and cheered moms every step. Zachary was so excited to see Grandma go! I loved seeing my mom's face lifted. Another highlight was some mail that Grandma and Joni sent mom at the hospital. She loved getting those notes! Thank you for your love and notes. I read your comments to her every morning and she is deeply encouraged. Ingrid

Good morning Judy, Ingrid and Bill,
Thank you for all of the updates. God is Good. It sure helps to be able to pray and praise more specifically. Judy, you are such a beautiful example of trusting in the Lord, and many are blessed by you!! The ladies in Bible study are keeping up with your progress and of course praying for you.
God's blessings always,
I can't wait to see your smile!!
Love, Caroline

Hi Judy and Bill and Ingrid,
We love you and are continuing to pray for you. I called your house and just talked with Joanie and then Elsa. Joanie told me about this Blog posting, so as soon as I got off the phone...you know me and the computer!!...I got right on. God is so GOOD! What a joy to hear about your progress! I thrilled to hear about the incidents of your smiles! Jesus' light definitely shines through your countenance!!! Praise God from Whom ALL BLESSINGS flow!! Although you are noticing some swelling, I am sure that will pass quickly! (Remember how my face looked like I had been kicked by a horse after my eye surgery?!) If I could give you a hug, Judy, I would!! Pretend I just sent you a "cyberhug" and have Bill or Ingrid give you a hug from me! :) I will be checking this Blog frequently to see your progress. I will let David know, too, as he is in Monterey visiting his Mom. Take care and remember many are upholding you in prayer. Love Kathy B.
